After going an abysmal 0-4 this round, and more importantly, suffering a Giants loss that made me want to throw up, it's time to break down why this all happened in the first place. I will start off with the Giants Eagles game, just to get it over with.
Let me start off by saying that our offensive play calling was absolutely atrocious. I knew what the next Giants
play was going to be at least 50% of the time. And the other 50%, the
play calls were just so dumbfounding I wouldn't even expect our
coaching staff to be so stupid. On 1st and 5 and relatively deep into Philadelphia territory, the Giants
elected to pass the ball 3 straight times, and guess what came of that-
a field goal. When you have 3 great backs, and Eli is having a terrible
day, why throw it three straight times? if we would have used Jacobs
the way we should have I believe we would have won. Jacobs averaged
almost 5 yards per carry, but just wasn't given the ball enough. Carney
missed 2 field goals in this game, and he missed just 3 all season (and
only 1 of those was a real miss, the other 2 were blocked). Most
importantly though, we settled for field goals every time we got into
Eagles territory.
RIDICULOUS!
We couldn't score even one touchdown. The problems today for the New York Giants were obviously on offense. Both defenses played very well, and both offenses didn't look that great, but the Eagles offense managed to look better than ours today (not much of a feat though). So, if Carney makes his kicks, Eli makes better throws, the coaching staff doesn't call stupid plays, and we actually managed to get some touchdowns instead of field goals, we would have won. However, that didn't happen, and Philadelphia pulled off the win. So since that I have rambled on about the Giants mishaps, maybe I should spend a little time on what Philadelphia did right. It was an ugly win for them for sure, but a win is a win, and they got the job done. Westbrook was non existant and McNabb didn't play very well, but the Eagle offense was able to pull off a few key plays to compliment how well their D played. Philadelphia's defense was a force, and won this game for them. Infact, they won last week's game for them as well. So will the Philly D be able to stop Arizona? Only time will tell, but they sure as hell did a good job stopping one of the top offenses in the league in the regular season today.

cardinals vs. eagles?!?!
-
I know, I am shocked too, didn't expect Philadelphia to even make the playoffs, or Arizona to get past the first round.. Arizona has been scary good in the playoffs though, better than the Eagles (who have also been very good). And since the playoffs is a new season, I think the Cardinals will actually pull off a trip to Tampa... shocking isnt it?
-
So what your saying is your team really sucked???
-
I am just glad that Rivers is now sitting there and crying at home

although he SHOULD be going to hawaii

If I were a NY fan, I would want Plax back next season, if hes available. It wasnt just the last 2 Philly games that exposed Eli and the WRs. Without Burress, the Giants are not a "playoff" team
-
No, I want them to sign or trade for another wide receiver, not Plax. I also strongly believe that we still could have won without Plax, if not for the terrible playcalling of Kevin Gilbride, and if Eli didn't have such a bad day. He has had good games even with Plax out, and he was just god awful yesterday. If he would have played decent, that would have helped A LOT
-
Plax has been an annual Eagle killer. You can't tell me they were well off without him in the lineup. Manning missed too many open receivers. He had one so wide open, it wasn't even funny, and missed the pass by a mile.
-
9-1 with him, 3-4 without
-
yes, but 3 of those 4 losses without him Jacobs was also absent, so that factors in a lot. And yes, losing him hurt, however, i think if we would have approached the game correctly, and if Eli wouldn't have had such a bad day, we still would have won
-
If they don't get another player like Plax they must get a qb. Without the gians running game, they are nothing!
-
1. we will get a new WR, 2. Eli IS A GOOD QB! yes he played terrible yesterday, but that doesn't make him a bad QB.. are u even reading what I wrote on that other article. He actually had a better QB rating and half the INTs of Peyton in his 4th full year as a starter!
-
That's why they play the games.
-
I think Burress is going to do some jail time and miss next season. And I think that NY was able to win some games without him due in part to their opponents not having the luxury of having game film of the NY offense without 17 in the lineup. Philly loaded up the line and sold out on run plays. Now other teams have seen what gives the NY offense trouble
-
I'm not sure he will do any time since it was himself he shot. His attorneys will get the gun charge reduced or something and he'll be back in training camp. Whose training camp is the big question...
