This is getting old. Very, very old. Per John Niyo at the News: The team placed safety Marquand Manuel on IR on Wednesday, replacing him on the roster with safety DeAngelo Smith, a rookie fifth-round pick who was signed off the Chicago Bears' practice squad. Another day, another player done for the season Replacing Manuel is a Bears practice squad safety, rookie DeAngelo Smith. Considering the round about way Smith arrived in Detroit, I'm not sure we should be expecting much. Niyo once again: Smith, a hard-hitting, 5-foot-11 cornerback out of Cincinnati, was drafted by Dallas to help at free safety and in the return game. He was among the Cowboys' final preseason roster cuts and was claimed off waivers, first by Cleveland and later by Chicago.
