Philadelphia Eagles right guard Danny Watkins could become one of the casulaties as the result of this year's NFL Draft, writes Johnson of Philly.com. After a up and down rookie season in 2011, more down than up, he found himself benched in 2012. Now that the Eagles have rookie Lane Johnson as a shoe-in at right tackle, Watkins finds himself in the mix to compete with both Todd Herremans and Evan Mathis on the inside. But three may be a crowd in that area, and the Eagles may very well give Watkins his walking papers real soon. If he is cut, he'll likely be making the trip to Canada and the CFL. As well as hailing from Canada, he also was drafted in 2010 by the B.C. Lions, who still hold his rights. Johnson explains: ' The CFL draft allows teams to draft Canadian-born players only — whether they play football collegiately in Canada or the United States. Watkins, a native of Kelowna, British Columbia, was drafted by the B.C. Lions with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 CFL Draft. The Lions still hold his rights. And according to Duane Ford of TSN, Watkins could wind up with the Lions (see the “In the Pipeline” section of the story). But all of that obviously hinges on how Watkins performs with the Eagles during team workouts and training camp. '
