The Chip Kelly era is going to begin much like the Andy Reid era ended.
So says the Worldwide Leader, anyway.
In their annual NFL preview issue, ESPN predicted that the Eagles will lose 41-0 to the division-rival Redskins, Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com reported.
Coincidentally -- or not -- the game will be broadcast on ESPN as part of their Week 1 Monday Night Football double-header.
But no need to pack it in, Eagles fans. If history is any indication, the actual outcome will be much different. Shorr-Parks did some diligent digging and came away with the following facts:
Kelly was shut out a grand total of zero times during his four years as head coach of Oregon.
Speaking of Oregon, Kelly's offense managed single-digit points just once in 52 games.
There's only been 13 shutouts in the 158 times the Redskins and Eagles have played.
The Redskins have not recorded a shutout -- of any opponent -- since 1991.
For what it's worth, this is the only shutout ESPN f...

Things got a little heated during Philadelphia Eagles practice on Thursday when wide receiver Riley Cooper mixed it up with cornerback Cary Williams. Cooper, of course, had himself a real rough preseason and training camp after footage emerged of him using a racial slur at a Kenny Chesney concert (a story tastefully and subtly chronicled […]The post Footage surfaces of Riley Cooper...
Because of Chip Kelly, being the Oregon Ducks Placekicker was the easiest job in the world. You didn’t have to do a whole lot.
Well, maybe the second easiest job. A weatherman in San Diego just has to show up every day and say “it’s going to be: nice.” CC Lewis Black for that joke.
Chip Kelly was very aggressive in terms of going for it on fourth down and on two-point conversions...
Philadelphia eagles coach Chip Kelly's has been known for slow starts when going into a new coaching gig, according to Sam Donnellon of Philly.com. "Work in progress," Kelly has said repeatedly this summer, trying to keep expectations to a realistic level.
Earlier we told you about that Riley Cooper and Cary Williams got into a scuffle on Thursday. And there’s video of the scuffle.
A few things the video shows:
Cary Williams was MAD.
Riley Cooper seemed to stop mid fight as if he wanted no parts of a fight with Williams
Williams clearly wanted all parts of Cooper.
Maybe there’s more to this than just a normal practice fight...
This was bound to happen, and now hopefully it will pull the Eagles together.
Jeff McLane is reporting that Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper and Cary Williams got into a fight at practice this morning.
No word on what started the fight, but we can be certain that the trolls will blame it on Cooper’s use of the N word last month.
Here are some additional details and the video...

When Riley Cooper and Cary Williams got into a fight at Philadelphia Eagles practice on Thursday, Michael Vick stepped in and tried to prevent the situation from escalating. As the video we posted earlier shows, Cooper walked away and looked like he wanted nothing to do with the scrum. Williams, however, seemed furious. Cooper insisted […]

Things can get heated between teammates during a typical NFL practice. But when Eagles cornerback Cary Williams and receiver Riley Cooper got into at practice on Thursday, it took two unlikely figures, receiver DeSean Jackson and QB Mike Vick to step in and get Williams back in line.
Williams was covering the receiver during one-on-one drills. After the play, they stood toe...

Former first-round draft pick Danny Watkins has signed a $555,000, one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins after being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles.

There is no foreign fuel that conjured Riley Cooper’s words at that Kenny Chesney concert this summer. It wasn’t the warm air. It wasn’t the country music. It wasn’t the alcohol, or the anger, the adrenaline. Tongues can be loosened by such an atmosphere. But ignorance is only released from hearts that contain it...
