By Tim BrittonFOXBORO, Mass. -- There may have been only two days of practice this week, but there was a group of players especially happy to be back on the field for the Patriots.
After Week Six, the quartet of Pats on the physically unable to perform list could return to the practice field for the first time all season. Three of the four did, including veteran running back Kevin Faulk.
"Kevin's been such a great player here for such a long time -- not only great in the locker room but out there on the field. He's been so clutch throughout his career," Wes Welker said. "Adding him back, his knowledge of the game and how good he is, is so big for us. It's always good to have Kevin out on the field and have that trust. I know Tom has. Everybody else who's been around Kevin for the past year or so know what kind of player he is and how he can help us."
Head coach Bill Belichick was happy to see the number of players in practice uniforms increase.
