Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Reno Mahe has accepted a plea deal to avoid jail time after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars in gasoline from a construction company. Mahe (MAY'-hee) and four others were charged last year after authorities say they stole more than $15,000 in gasoline in 2010 from a suburban Salt Lake City company. Mahe agreed on Monday to plead no contest to a third-degree felony theft charge and pay about $2,900 in restitution. Authorities say if he stays out of trouble for 18 months, the charge will be dismissed. Mahe's attorneys have maintained all along that he thought the gas was a gift. He played for the Eagles over five seasons and doubled as a punt returner.

Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp Notes and Depth Chart

One day after learning the news about Andy Reid’s son Garrett, the Philadelphia Eagles had practice as usual.  I attended camp yesterday and wondered whether or not the mood would be somber and the players relatively quiet in the wake of Garrett’s death. After several players spoke out about the matter, they went on to have a pretty chippy afternoon practice, which was great...

Andy Reid acknowledges that Garrett Reid’s death was indeed drug related

I really didn’t want to use the word “indeed” in the headline, because that means that I (and many other people) assumed that Garrett Reid’s death was drug related. Like many fans, I wanted to give Garrett Reid the benefit of the doubt even though with his past transgretions, that would be hard to do. In Reid’s recently released public statement, he said “Even though...

Andy Reid’s statement on death of eldest son Garrett

On behalf of Tammy and our family, I would like to thank everybody for their tremendous support, love, kind words and prayers during this time of great sadness. Words cannot express our sense of loss. We loved Garrett so much. He was a wonderful son and brother. He made us laugh, he was a pleasure to be around, he always had a smile on his face, and we will miss him dearly. We will...

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Browns President Mike Holmgren and Patriots coach Bill Belichick were among more than 900 people who packed the church for the funeral service of Garrett Reid, son of Eagles coach Andy Reid. Garrett Reid was found dead in his dorm room Sunday morning at Lehigh University, where he was assisting the Eagles strength and conditioning coach during training...

The Curious Case of Michael Vick

Michael Vick is a megastar. Photo Credit: Jim McIsaac/Getty Images That much is evident the moment you step foot on campus at Lehigh University for the Philadelphia Eagles’ training camp. The abundance of green No. 7 jerseys scattered throughout the enthusiastic, vocal crowd signifies the adoration Eagles fans have for their athletic quarterback. But it wasn’t always that way...

Today's Post Is Dedicated to Garrett Reid

I would like to announce that I am no longer alive. I was walking the dog yesterday morning and listening to ESPN radio when they announced that Andy Reid had left Eagles practice and that the team was asked to pray for their coach.  I just imagined that Pat's, Geno's, and Tony Luke's must have all closed or something.  It was surprising to hear a few minutes later...
