Former New York Giants & Jets punter Dave Jennings passed away today after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, at the age of 61.
Jennings, a four-time Pro Bowler, spent 14 years in the NFL from 1974 to 1987 after which he made the jump to radio. After spending three years with the Jets he would cover them on the radio from 1988-’01, he then made the leap over to the Giants where he covered them till 2007 when he was replaced by former Giants linebacker Carl Banks.
Jennings would then go on to become a part of WFAN where he handled a variety of position from game analyst to locker room interviews. Ultimately Jennings would have to leave broadcasting following the 2008 season due struggles with his illness.
