The Patriots will see some familiar faces on Saturday night, most notably Broncos QB Tim Tebow. But in the AFC divisional round playoff game, they’ll also battle some players who wore Patriots colors for several years.
One of them is versatile offensive lineman Russ Hochstein, a do-it-all for the Pats from 2002-2008. Now, he’s filling in on the Broncos line, and he will likely do so again on Saturday. After his team out-lasted the Steelers on Sunday, I talked with him about coming back to Foxboro.
“Always happy (for the reunion),” Hochstein told me. “I played a lot of years there, it’s always fun to play there and I’m sure it’ll be a rocking loud environment.”
Yeah, I would say that’s true. The environment should be sweet, as the Broncos continue their improbable march through the playoffs and the Pats try to win their first playoff game since 2007. Did Hochstein even think it was possible to have a rematch of Dec. 18?
