San Francisco 49ers tailback Frank Gore (knee) is probable for Thursday's game against the Rams, according to Spin:Gore banged his left knee during San Francisco's loss to the Colts Sunday, but he was never in danger of missing Thursday's game. Gore had 82 yards on 11 carries against the Colts but the 49ers went away from the run, leading to Gore having some words with coach Jim Harbaugh Sunday. Look for him to carry the football early and often Thursday against a Rams team that allowed a big game to DeMarco Murray in Week 3.

Who Will Replace the San Francisco 49ers’ Patrick Willis?

The San Francisco 49ers’ defense, weakened with the loss of Aldon Smith, may also be without the services of Patrick Willis as the team faces the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome on Thursday night.  Thanks to a groin injury he suffered against the Indianapolis Colts, Willis is officially listed as questionable on the 49ers’ injury report.  If Willis cannot play, backup...

According to Matt Maiocco of,  49ers linebacker Patrick Willis and tight end will be a game time decisions for tonight’s matchup with the Rams. San Francisco will make a decision on Davis after pregame warm ups.  Quarterback Colin Kaepernick better cross his fingers that Davis plays.  He desperately needs him on the field. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is nursing...

49ers regain footing, rout Rams

Colin Kaepernick threw two touchdown passes, Frank Gore had his first 100-yard game of the season and the San Francisco 49ers' defense stepped up without some of their stars in a 35-11 rout over the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night. Anquan Boldin had five catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, and Gore had 153 yards on 20 carries and a 34-yard score for San Francisco (2-2), which...

49ers' injury report: Patrick Willis and Nnamdi Asomugha non-participants in Monday's practice

The San Francisco 49ers’ were missing some big names on the practice field Monday, according to their official team web site. Patrick Willis and Nnamdi Asomugha were amongst the names of non-participants due to injury. That’s not exactly comforting for fans heading into their week 4 divisional matchup with the St. Louis Rams. After all, San Francisco’s defense has yet to look...

Willis, Asomugha inactive for 49ers

Linebacker Patrick Willis and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha were inactive for the San Francisco 49ers against the St. Louis Rams. 49ers’ Phil Dawson Attempts Rare Free Kick in Final Seconds of First Half (GIF)

The first half of Thursday night’s 49ers-Rams game concluded with one of the most seldom seen plays in football — a free kick.  The Niners fair caught a St. Louis punt at their own 39-yard line with enough time left in the second quarter to run one play. Instead of taking a knee or trying for a Hail Mary into the end zone, coach Jim Harbaugh elected to evoke the obscure rule...

San Francisco 49ers at St. Louis Rams: 2013 Week 4 NFL Pick

San Francisco 49ers (1-2) at St. Louis Rams (1-2) I legitimately don’t understand this line. Yes, the 49ers haven’t looked good in the past two weeks, but neither have the Rams. Week 2, the Rams were down 21-0 in Atlanta before a combination of garbage time and Falcon injuries allowed them to get it within 7 by the time the game ended. Last week, they got blown out 31-7 in Dallas...

Column: 49ers Must Rediscover Magic

The decision to play Aldon Smith against the Indianapolis Colts before sending him into rehab was questionable at best, though San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh must have thought it was worth a shot.
