No one wants to admit when he's wrong, but that's something many Jaguars fans are coping with following Jacksonville's home victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars looked solid on offense. Even though they only mounted four scoring drives, three of those drives resulted in touchdowns, not field goals, and the Jaguars offense continued to show the quick-strike capability that was on display just a week ago. And that's the problem. Chad Henne, for the first time as a Jaguars player, started today's game, and he didn't disappoint. He got off to a rough start, having his first pass batted in the air and intercepted, but it was smooth sailing from there on out. Henne finished 17 of 26 passing, for 261 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. More importantly, the Jaguars offense looked like a pro unit, something that has been lacking for the better part of two years. There's been plenty of speculation about Blaine Gabbert's future with the Jaguars over the past week. Many have said that benching him wasn't the right move by the Jaguars. The argument insists that the Jaguars, for some reason, need the rest of the season to properly analyze what Gabbert brings to the table. The fact of the matter is that Blaine Gabbert has had nearly two years to show the Jaguars something, anything, but he's been unable to do that. There have been flashes of solid play, but they were usually immediately followed by poor play. Blaine Gabbert never made snap decisions to throw the ball into tight spaces. Yes, Gabbert was able to avoid interceptions most of the time, but he also avoided big plays too. That's what Chad Henne brings to the table that Gabbert lacks. Henne may throw more interceptions, but those risks also result in more points. Don't believe me? Just look how many points the Jaguars have put up over the last two weeks compared to the rest of the season. I, like any other human being, hate to admit when I'm wrong, and I was wrong about Blaine Gabbert. Chad Henne is the better quarterback, and the rest of the season should be spent evaluating Henne's talent. The Blaine Gabbert era? Stick a fork in it.
