The Rap Sheet:
One thing about Bill Belichick… you can never predict his friends. Like, whodathunk he’d been cool with Bon Jovi and comedian Lenny Clarke? Well, add another one.
Turns out, ever since his Cleveland days, the Patriots coach has been buddies with Charles Barkley. They used to go out to dinner together. That contributed to Belichick appearing this week on Showtime’s Inside the NFL, which was on earlier in the week. I just watched last night, though.
There was some football stuff and some funny non-football stuff — it’s an entertaining show. One question Belichick got was what position Barkley should play on the football field.
“I’d play him at tight end,” Belichick said on Inside the NFL. “Great hands. Smart Guy. Knows how to get open. Can catch the ball. He’d be tough in the red area. And we’d use him on some crack-back blocks.”

IT WAS A MONSTER MASH
Everybody's favorite NFL coach/roller-skating pirate admitted that he enjoys Halloween, in particular the "candy and costumes."
Mark down this date in football history – Bill Belichick wore a suit on a sidelines. Major moment in time. The Hooded Wookiee was actually in Louisville for the game. We figure it was to see his son play for Rutgers, but still efforting what the deal was with the jacket and tie. BC is up early and about to hit the road to East Lansing for ESPN GameDay. It’s a Michigan State...

The Patriots practiced two days this week, and as soon as yesterday’s workout concluded, they were gone. Players scattered across the country for their first extended break since the preseason. As for coach Bill Belichick, he’ll take some time off, too. What are his plans for the bye week before everyone returns Tuesday? Check out my video:
All eyes used to be on Bill Belichick and Eric Mangini when they would meet at midfield for their postgame handshakes. Now, in the wake of Sunday's Jim Harbaugh-Jim Schwartz debacle, the New England head coach has spoken out about the NFL tradition. Belichick feels like the media has turned it into what it is today -- a heavily scrutinized event that often overshadows the game...
By Tim BrittonFOXBORO, Mass. -- With no game this weekend, head coach Bill Belichick took advantage of some of the extra rest awaiting his Patriots and held a kind of scrimmage practice on Tuesday.
The players lined up against one another and competed in various situations, walking through what should and shouldn't happen depending on the context. It was a bit unusual to see...

During the eleven seasons they’ve been together in Foxboro, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have won quite a few football games. Last Sunday’s 20-16 win over Dallas gave them 116 as a head coach/quarterback tandem.

The Patriots have found the perfect formula for winning football games: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and smart spending. Businessweek listed the Patriots as the fourth-smartest spenders in sports over the past five years, behind only the Nashville Predators, Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. According to unofficial Patriots salary cap page patscap.com, Tom Brady's salary is the...
Before the Patriots broke for the bye week, coach Bill Belichick spoke to the rookies. For 40 minutes, he counseled them on what to expect this week and how to conduct themselves for the rest of the season. Rookie first-round OT Nate Solder called it “informative.” What else did he say? Check out my video:
