Now that Hines Ward has become “former” Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and retiree, the paychecks with the seemingly endless zeroes are no more. And without the endless zeroes, the (multiple) mansions become that much more costly.  Thus, Hines Ward is looking to peddle one of his – in Atlanta, Georgia.  The former Georgia Bulldog has lived in the home for less than four years, but now that football has been cut out of Ward’s life, practicality might be the name of the game.

As far as athletes’ homes go, this one doesn’t disappoint.  How does eight bedrooms and eight and a half baths suit you?  In case the 12,00 square foot house doesn’t work for you, maybe you could rent the apartment above one of the two three-car garages.  All the goodies and gadgets are there – it has an elevator, a full basketball court and a cabana with changing room in the resort-style backyard.

And just in case you weren’t sure, our friends at Trulia make it known that the mansion is “great for family and entertaining” and is “open floorplan with large eat in kitchen.”  All of this could be yours for a very hot (not cool) $7.5 million.
