After a successful regular season was ended against the New York Giants in the NFC conference championship fans of the 49ers are left wondering what the team needs to put it over the hump. In years past that answer has been almost solely been a quarterback. But with 2011 being Alex Smith’s career year in terms of avoiding turnovers and executing the game plan there has been a large amount of discussion about the need to improve the wide receiver core on the team.
