It didn’t take long for 2nd round pick LaMichael James to reach out to his soon to be teammates. This one in particular caught my attention, because if things go according to plan the 49ers backfield will feature both these backs. That is once Frank Gore has nothing left in the tank.
@KendallHunter32 what’s good east Texas!?

BEST OF MAXIM
From the sound of it, Randy Moss isn’t the only freakishly athletic person in his family. We have all seen the amazing things that Moss is capable of on the field when he puts some effort in, and from the look of it the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Moss’ daughter, Sydney Moss, is a high school basketball star at Boone County high in Kentucky. According to WLWT, she...
When you’re as close to a Super Bowl berth as the San Francisco 49ers were in 2011, you need to add some impact players in the draft to push you over the top. Unfortunately, the 49ers failed to add a single starter, instead settling for developmental prospects who will do little to help in 2012.
How does James fit in San Fran?
A.J. Jenkins was a reach in the late 1st-round and...
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is very familiar with running back LaMichael James, who he faced off against in the Pac-12 when he was the head coach at Stanford.
One thing in particular Harbaugh remembers is how tough it was to stop James inside the red zone, where the 49ers offense had problems last season.
“Just the unstoppable nature of him at the goal line,”...
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, wide receiver Randy Moss has reported to the San Francisco 49ers offseason program after being excused by head coach Jim Harbaugh to work out on his own for the first week.
The Moss showed up this week since the player will have the opportunity to get on the field with the coaches and go over the playbook. So it’s vital for a new player...
The San Francisco 49ers selected running back LaMichael James with the No. 61 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
James is coming off a stellar career at Oregon, and displayed exceptional instincts, quickness and balance - but his slight frame may limit him to a complementary role in the NFL. And his fantasy stock looks to be low while fighting for touches behind Frank Gore...
The San Francisco 49ers pulled wide receiver A.J. Jenkins from the board with the No. 30 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Jenkins was viewed as a reach, namely with Stephen Hill, Alshon Jeffery, Brian Quick and Rueben Randle still on the board - but Jenkins should still develop into an explosive weapon for a San Francisco receiving corps that was a glaring weakness for an...
The San Francisco 49ers have used their final pick of the NFL draft to select defensive end Cam Johnson of Virginia.
The 49ers took Johnson in the seventh round and 237th overall Saturday. Johnson had four sacks and 30 tackles, including 11 for a loss, last year for the Cavaliers.
The 6-foot-3, 268-pound lineman will likely shift to a pass-rushing outside linebacker in defensive...
The 49ers used their final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to select DE/OLB Cam Johnson out of Virginia.
6’3 268 lbs
Johnson played his first two years at outside linebacker at Virginia before moving to end, although his current size doesn’t necessarily suggest positional versatility at the next level. He has solidified himself as an end in a 4-3 scheme since he excels at many things...
The 49ers use the 199th pick on Center Jason Slowey outta Western Oregon. Can’t find any draft info on him at this time. He is 6’3, 303 lbs. My best guess is that if he makes the team it will be on the Practice Squad.
The 49ers surprised observers last Thursday night when they selected Illinois receiver A.J. Jenkins with the 30th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. But now we know that if the Niners hadn’t snagged Jenkins at No. 30, the Rams probably would have taken him at No. 33.
Yahoo! Sports’ Michael Silver was actually in the war room with Jeff Fisher and Les Snead in St. Louis last...
The San Francisco 49ers have selected offensive lineman Jason Slowey of Western Oregon in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
Slowey's selection at 199th overall adds depth to an offensive line that prides itself on power running and zone blocking. He played left tackle for most of his career at Western Oregon but is projected at center or guard in the NFL.
And that's exactly...
The 49ers have traded the last 3 times they were to draft. Yesterday they traded their 3rd round pick for the 97th pick today. Then turned around and traded the 97th pick to Miami for their 103rd pick, 196th (6th rd) this year and a 6th round in 2013.
The 49ers then turned around and traded the 103rd pick to the Panthers for their 180th pick (6th rd) and a 3rd round in 2013.
NBC 25 in Flint, Mich., joined Robinson for his entire draft weekend experience. Watch Robinson go through the three-day process which ended with him wearing a San Francisco 49ers hat as the team’s sixth-round draft pick.
LaMichael James is as explosive as any back in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The San Francisco 49ers just could not pass on like Lamichael James with the 61st pick in the 2012 NFL draft. The level of talent he will bring to them will be the explosive help the Niners offense needed last season. James is a big play waiting to happen with a whooping 6.6 yard a carry in only three...
