Found August 22, 2013 on This Given Sunday:
As expected, Brandon Weeden has won the starting job for the Cleveland Browns. But not only is the second-year quarterback being viewed as the No. 1 signal caller on the depth chart. Some are thinking he could be in store for a breakout sophomore season.  The reason for that? Weeden has been killing it this preseason. He has completed 72 percent of his 25 passes for 9.2 yards per attempt and has posted a passer rating of 139.8 through two games, which makes him the hottest quarterback of August.  Let's keep in mind that Derek Anderson was sort of an August star in 2011. Same for Jake Delhomme in Cleveland in 2010. Guys shine all the time in the preseason and then fade in the regular season.  This could be different. Not only is Weeden a first-round pick, but he's a mature one. He'll turn 30 this fall, and although his numbers were poor as a rook he improved as the 2012 season wore on: Last year, Weeden was terrible in the preseason, too. So this means somethin...

Is Brandon Weeden an “undervalued” fantasy QB?

We certainly don’t spend a lot of time talking about fantasy football here at WFNY, but I found this ESPN post (insider) about undervalued QBs to be pretty interesting. Brandon Weeden comes in at number seven on their list behind RG3, Ryan Tannehill and Alex Smith among others. The post goes on to compare Weeden’s value to that of AFC North counterpart Andy Dalton. Apparently...

Browns name Weeden their starter, as expected

The Browns have named Brandon Weeden their starting quarterback as expected. The Browns insisted on calling their quarterback spot a competition even saying last week the battle was "close." Browns, Colts ready for longest preseason tuneup

Andrew Luck and Brandon Weeden have come a long way in a year. The two bright-eyed rookies who took turns staring at Hall of Fame busts during last summer's rookie symposium are now established starters and franchise cornerstones. So when they meet again Saturday night, Luck and Weeden will be following a different preseason script - playing at least one half and likely into...

Quarterback Tryout Results: Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns

It's that time of year when starting quarterback tryout results are revealed in camps where we almost all know who the starting quarterback is going to be anyways. Well, that is unless you are talking about the Seattle Seahawks' camp last season. But other than that odd but genius situation, predicting the starting quarterback for most teams is pretty straightforward....
