  According to a story courtesy Pro Football Talk, Matthew Reid Hinson, the man accused of slitting the throat of a Chicago Bears fan in October of last year, has plead guilty to the murder. The man accused of murdering William Pettry pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges on Tuesday. The Florida Times-Union reports that Matthew Reid Hinson will be sentenced at a later date and could receive life in prison for his crime. Pettry, had traveled to Jacksonville, to attend the game between the Bears and Jaguars, but was never able to make it. Apparently, Pettry and a friend were having a conversation with Hinson’s wife before the assault took place. After the tragedy became public, former Bears tight end Kellen Davis helped raise $20,000 in support of Pettry’s family. Quarterback Jay Cutler, also invited the victim’s family to a Bears game later that season.
