You can look at Jahvid Best in one of two ways. A fast multi-purpose running back or a concussion prone player who will eventually get hurt. With concussions, it’s not “if”, but “when,” so while it’s the truth he can cause match up issues, “You can’t make the club from the tub.” However, Best stated to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press that he agrees that he is a match up nightmare
When on the field Best is a solid runner, but talent really shines in the passing game. His open field ability allows him the opportunity to break a big play at anytime. His durability lead the Lions to draft Mikel Leshoure in 2011, and come in to be the power back so Best doesn’t have to do the heavy lifting.
As for the nightmare label, Best agrees: “I believe it’s true, I mean, we get in situations where linebackers have me one on one. It creates something else to worry about.”
Best has been limited his first two seasons, and if anybody on the team is a match up nightmare, it has to be Calvin Johnson. Regardless, you have to like Best’s optimism going forward.
So far the closest Best has come to a nightmare, is to fantasy owners.....
