Excuse me Mr. Banner, step away from the hater-tots.In a statement made to Peter King in his Monday Morning Quarterback column on SI.com, Banner says quote:We removed ourselves from the process. We really liked Chip. He’s intriguing, a very different thinker, and very smart. But you could see he was uncertain what he wanted to do. He may be in Philadelphia 10 years or longer and have a terrific career. But the fact he committed to Tampa Bay last year, backed out, then seemed all year to be leaning toward going to the NFL, then being so uncertain with us, we just felt it was too big a gamble. If there was no ambivalence, we may have offered him the job.Just get over it dude. Sure, Chip Kelly had a hard time making up his mind. Sure, he was wavering, but let’s get serious. Do you think any coach in their right mind would choose the Cleveland Browns over the Philadelphia Eagles?Chip Kelly was never coming to the Browns and you know it Banner so put down the hater-aide, and come to the realization that you’ve been out-dueled by the leagues youngest GM, who oh by the way happens to be a shark at signing people, and his name is Howie.I know Chip Kelly is a great unknown at this point, and yes, he couldn’t make up his mind, but he is innovative, and has been sought out for advice by the likes of Bill Belichick. I’ll take it over the dumb, mindless, predictable nonsense we’ve had in this town for the last 14 years, that you kept in this town for too long.As the old saying goes, “Haters gonna hate”With your ass ugly uniforms. Have fun with Rob Chudzinski you smug bastard.

Chip Kelly had 32.5 million reasons to bolt Oregon for Philly

The Philadelphia Eagles wanted their man, and they apparently felt he could be theirs for the right money. Chip Kelly spurned them once, opting to stay back in Oregon, but the Eagles wouldn't take no for an answer and upped the ante last week, offering to make him on the highest paid coaches in the NFL, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Should the Eagles run a 4-3 or a 3-4 defensive scheme?

As the Eagles search continues for their next defensive coordinator, several names have been mentioned, most recently Jim Herrmann, who is currently the linebackers coach for the New York Giants.Herrmann is known to be an “old school” defensive coach, and played and coached (defensive coordinator) under legendary Michigan head coach Bo Schembechler, who was about as “old school”...

Things I Think I Thought While Thinking Thoughts about Pens Hockey

This is like a lousy mash up of Five Tool Tool (minus the funny) and Peter King (minus the Starwood Preferred Coffee-Nerdness and general stupidity) for Pens hockey.  I will try to crank these out from time to time… they will probably suck and will never be well written.  Until Max Power decides to start sharing some of that internet money I have no reason to actually try here...

NFL Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles zero in on defensive coordinator

Chip Kelly is quickly assembling members of his Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff. Former Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur is rumored to be tapped as the Eagles offensive coordinator, and now word surfaces of a possible defensive coordinator. Howard Eskin believes that the Eagles and Chip Kelly will hired current San Francisco 49ers defensive backs coach Ed Donatell. Eskin...

Michael Vick Has No Interest in the Jets

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that quarterback Michael Vick has no interest in playing for the Jets next season.Fantasy Spin:The Jets could really use a QB and with the Eagles likely to cut him, Vick could be the best quarterback on the open market this offseason. GM John Idzik suggested that the Jets could go after Bills backup Tavaris Jackson if the team is unable to convince...

Sports Media Musings: Patriots Blame Game & Media Notes From Championship Sunday

None of the subsequent text you’re about to read matters; just as none of the endless hours of conversation breaking down the Patriots 28-13 defeat at the hands of the Ravens matters. You want storylines? There are plenty. You want culprits? There are plenty. But remember – and I can’t stress this enough – none of these narrative arcs really matter. In the aftermath of...
