Getty Images According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma has laid out who he believes is the whistleblower that sparked the bounty scandal, in the latest lawsuit that he filed against the NFL. Vilma (like some other people) believes that former Saints defensive assistant Mike Cerullo is the person who spoke with the league back in 2011, which created the current state of mayhem that the Saints currently find themselves in. Vilma believes Cerullo is acting out of spite after he was fired by the Saints after he  “disappear[ed] from the Club during the 2009 Season and provid[ed] a pretextual excuse that was shown to be inaccurate.”  He also said that Cerullo “disappear[ed] from the Club during the week leading up to the Super Bowl in 2010, again giving a pretextual excuse that was shown to be inaccurate.” It would make sense for a disgruntled former employee to try to get back at the team that fired him.  But if Cerullo is the whistleblower, there’s always a chance his story is true.
