Although Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon will start the regular season suspended for four games, he's still very much eligibile to join his teammates in training camp and the preseason.
That time may be in jeopardy as Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports that Blackmon recently underwent groin surgery.
His return date would put him right at the start of camp, but with all surgeries, the exact date is up in the air at this point.
Darin Gantt of PFT writes: ' Blackmon was limited during minicamp, and didn’t take part in the final session on June 14. If he’s not ready to start camp, Mohamed Massaquoi would likely take reps with the first offense alongside Cecil Shorts. While it would obviously be better if he didn’t miss any time, he’s already taking a month off, so if there’s a chance he’s back by camp, he should be recovered by Week Five, when he’s eligible to return.
