Believe it or not, the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the teams I have wanted to write about all off-season.There has been plenty of changes with this organization, you cannot help but feel this franchise will take a drastic step forward, maybe even challenge for a playoff spot (that speaks to the state of the AFC right now). The Chiefs had five Pro Bowl players and could only muster two wins for the 2012 season. Now, new head coach Andy Reid is charged with molding this team in his own style. Will this be the Philadelphia Eagles of the west, or will it be a completely new unit made up of different schemes and patterns? With two teams in Missouri trying to reach the playoffs after disappointing seasons (St. Louis) this should be a very interesting football season. With a new season comes new predictions and new hope for this franchise. Here six bold predictions that will or will not come to fruition in 2013.1. Andy Reid trades for Michael Vick. A big bold prediction out of the gate. Although this will not happen, it will speak volumes about how Reid wants the offense to run. It also means Alex Smith is not working out in the new team’s plans.2. Dwayne Bowe leads the league in receptions. He wants to be “the man” in the Chiefs’ offense. Bowe cannot catch 100 balls in this offense because it is not built for that type of dominance.3. Charles in charge. Two years removed from knee surgery, Jamaal Charles leads the AFC in rushing, maybe the NFL, and could top 2,000 yards on the ground. If Adrian Peterson can do it, so can Charles.4. Derrick Johnson leads in sacks. I think Johnson will really have a breakout season, and could get to the quarterback 15 times this season. He only had 2 sacks last year, while Tamba Hali had 9 and Justin Houston had 10. If this happens, Johnson will be a sure-fire All-Pro player.5. Seven wins, only 5 Pro Bowl players. The team triples its win total from 2012, yet there aren't more players selected to Hawaii. That is a complete lack of respect. If the team is going to do better, there should be more players recognized.6. Second place. The Chiefs will finish second in the AFC West. This is not a team that can challenge Denver just yet, but they will win more games and make things more interesting for the AFC and football in general.
