The Buffalo Bills signed Kevin Kolb and then drafted E.J. Manuel hoping to improve on their quarterback play in 2013.
Now the two are competing for the starting job as the Bills signal caller.
The Buffalo News has the unofficial count of 38 snaps for Kolb to 22 for E.J. Manuel in practice on Tuesday. Jeff Tuel amassed eight snaps as the third stringer.
Manuel is said to have thrown the ball better then the veteran Kolb who saw more blitz packages.
Coach Doug Marrone liked what he saw in the Bills first padded practice:
“It was good competition. We saw the level pick up a little bit, which is what you expect. I give credit to the players in doing that. And I think a couple things we need to clean up when we’re in our thud period, exactly what we want. That’s what I told them afterwards.
All signs still point to the Bills giving Kolb the first shot at the starters job.
