The Minnesota Vikings are without a doubt the best 0-4 team in the league right now.  In fact I’d go so far as to say they are one of the best teams in the league right up until a high school marching band takes the field for halftime.  Then, well, you’ve watched the disasters unfold:  17-7 lead against the Chargers?  Mike Tolbert is unstoppable.  Vikings lose 24-17. 17-0 lead over the Bucs?  Josh Freeman channels John Elway, Steve Young and what the hell, Brett Favre (somebody has to mention him this week) and rallies them to a 24-20 win.  20-0 lead at home against the Lions? Too big a lead to give up?  Challenge accepted.  26-23 Lions in OT. With all of this apparent promise and ultimate disappointment there is no shortage of recommendations about what the Vikings need to do to right the ship: Cut Bernard Berrian Ah, yes.  Cut Stone Hands.  That will change everything.  The entire reason our offense hasn’t done diddly is that Berrian is out there running around not being thrown to (10 targets in three games).  Guess what?  It’s probably best he’s out there tying up a defensive back who still thinks it’s 2007.  [...]
