Kevin Seifert of ESPN Chicago believes that free agent DE Kyle Vanden Bosch will retire.
Vanden Bosch, 34, has yet to garner any sort of interest since the Detroit Lions released him back in February. It’s unknown if Vanden Bosch is looking to earn similar money to his his $7 million salary he had in Detroit, which would no doubt scare away any interested team.
While he may have come out and declared that he had no intention of retiring yet, the “presumption for months has been” that Vanden Bosch will indeed retire.
Unless a team looking to add depth to their defensive line takes a chance on him, and Vanden Bosch decides to take the veteran’s minimum, it’s unlikely he’ll be playing in 2013.
