According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, linebacker Victor Butler tore his ACL during Tuesday's OTAs after colliding with running back Mark Ingram.
Butler was one of the four players competing to be Ryan's "Jack" linebacker in 2013.
The Saints are in desperate need for pass rushers and Butler’s injury in a huge blow in that search.
Butler was the frontrunner for the starter’s role and due to his familiarity of Ryan’s system from his days in Dallas.
He also was the most explosive of the candidates off the edge and it will be hard to find a player with his skill level this late in the offseason.
