TEAMS: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys
The Detroit Lions placed Sammie Hill on injured reserve today with a foot injury and signed Jimmy Saddler-McQueen off the practice squad.
Hill already had been ruled out of Sunday's season finale against the Chicago Bears because of an injury he suffered in last week's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The Lions are severely short-handed at defensively tackle with Nick Fairley (shoulder) and Corey Williams (knee) already on IR. Hill, who made 15 tackles and started three games this year, will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
Saddler-McQueen appeared in one game with the Dallas Cowboys in 2010.

NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 17
IT WAS ANOTHER disappointing season for the Detroit Lions. Holding a .500 record at the midway point of the season, the Lions dropped their final eight games, including a 26-24 fall to Chicago, Sunday. But that didn’t stop kicker Jason Hanson from setting the franchise single-season scoring record.

Saved by the Buzzer: Mike McCarthy pulls a Jim Schwartz as Jordy Nelson tries to hide the evidence (VIDEO)
So apparently Lions head coach Jim Schwartz isn’t the only NFL coach that doesn’t know the rules of throwing the challenge flag and Jordy Nelson might be the smartest guy on the Packer sideline (coaches included). Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions: Week 17 NFL Pick
Chicago Bears (9-6) at Detroit Lions (4-11)
Chicago is in a must win game here, but that doesn’t mean that this means more to them. The Lions would love nothing more here than to play spoiler and eliminate a division rival. However, unlike the Eagles against the Giants, I don’t really like the Lions here. The Bears have won every game this year in which they’ve been favored...

The Chicago Bears victory over the Detroit Lions was a microcosm of the 2012 season, in which the Bears started out fast and faded late only to win a close game. If the Bears had squeaked into the playoffs, it would have been on the heels of a game that they barely won.
The defense forced four turnovers, putting the offense in prime position to score touchdowns and put...
