Today against the Lions, Matt Ryan suffered what looked like a gruesome ankle injury. However, he was apparently born with "go-go gadget rubber ankles" because he only missed two plays before returning. What isn't shown during the video below is some Lions defenders talking to Ryan while he was down and clearly in pain.

To me, it looked like the Lions may have been wishing Ryan well, but according to Falcons receiver Roddy White, Lions linemen Ndamukong Suh and Cliff Avril were doing the exact opposite. (see below)

After the game, White told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 (Suh) today, and also 92 (Avril), the (expletive) they were doing when Matt got hurt. That was unacceptable. Like 92 was kicking Ryan's feet saying, 'Get him off the field.' We don't do stuff like that. We don't rally over guys when they get hurt. It was just inappropriate behavior. I mean, 'Get the cart'? Are you serious? Come on. When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt."

If White is telling the truth, and we don't see why he'd make this up, it shouldn't be tolerated and comes off very poorly. When Ryan was asked about it, he said he didn't hear anything. But why would he? He, just like everyone else, thought his ankle exploded. The Falcons were able to hang on and win 23-16. So it looks like the Lions got just what they deserved.
