The Penalty Flag:
For many, Brandon Weeden was too old to begin with. Drafted 22nd overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns seemed desperate to find a starting quarterback.
Even though X-rays were negative on Brandon Weeden’s thumb, the Browns will continue to take a closer look.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN stated an MRI is still to come and Brandon Weeden’s status is in jeopardy for Week 3, thank God!

Browns starting quarterback Brandon Weeden, injured his thumb in his throwing hand. Weeden said after the game, the x-rays were negative. He also said he couldn’t grip the football. That is why he knew he had to leave the game. He also said he just hurt it an hour ago and he didn’t know how this was going to affect him starting in the next game. He said his thumb was sure hurting...
The Cleveland Browns entered the 2013 season hoping, that in his second year, and with a Norv Turner offense more compatible with his skills, that Brandon Weeden could rise to the occasion and become the quarterback that this franchise has desperately needed. At least that was the perception the team wanted the fans to have. We learned later that the current regime never had...
Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports that Cleveland Browns quarterback, Brandon Weeden, suffered an injury to his thumb on his throwing hand during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.Weeden suffered the injury after he whacked his throwing hand on the helmet of guard, John Greco. Replaced by back-up Jason Campbell, Weeden’s x-rays came...
The Cleveland Browns coachin staff is reportedly considering third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer in the event that Brandon Weeden cannot play in Week 3 due to a sprained thumb on his throwing hand.
Going to Hoyer would be huge leap of faith (one career start for 5th-year pro), but 0-2 #Browns are on the ledge, thinking about it.

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens (Week 2)
September 15, 2013
Trying not to let the disillusionment that Brandon Weeden and the Browns started in me last week carry over. Hoping the offense can find its way a little bit to help out the defense, who should pressure Flacco quite a bit.
The details are scarce, but the concerns over Brandon Weeden’s injured thumb have forced a change at the quarterback position.

The post Brian Hoyer will start at QB for Cleveland Browns against Vikings appeared first on Players View.
Over the last four seasons, no 0-2 team in the NFL has eventually made the playoffs. This afternoon, the Browns head off to Baltimore to see which AFC North team will fall to the basement of the division in the early part of the 2013 season.
The Ravens will be passing out their Super Bowl rings before the start of the game. The Browns will hope that the offense shows some signs of...
Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers.
That was a pretty ugly display of football Sunday. At least from the offense. Let’s get it started.
WINNER: Jordan Cameron. The Browns tight end caught five passes for 95 yards. Cameron is looking like a legit NFL tight end, which we just didn’t...
The Cleveland Browns might be making a change at quarterback. Jason Campbell could be making a start next Sunday at the Minnesota Vikings. Current starter Brandon Weeden sustained a sprained thumb against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. This might be the move the Browns need to get their offense jump started. Weeden’s performance on the field has been less than spectacular.
Congratulations to you brave Cleveland Browns fans because you have a new starting quarterback! Let’s welcome third-string QB Brian Hoyer as the next tackling dummy. Former starter Brandon Weeden sprained his right thumb during Sunday’s loss to Baltimore, opening up the vacancy for Hoyer. The 27-year-old made one start for the Cardinals last season after spending the three previous...
Browns third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer will start Sunday against Minnesota in place of Brandon Weeden, who sprained his right thumb last week. Cleveland surprisingly decided to go with Hoyer over more experienced backup Jason Campbell.
Campbell came in for one series in the fourth quarter against Baltimore after Weeden injured his thumb when he banged it on a teammate's...
Arthur Jones wanted to celebrate after sacking Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden on Sunday.
Jones dropped Weeden for a 9-yard loss in the third quarter and it was particularly satisfying for the Ravens defensive lineman considering his medical ordeal in the weeks leading up to the game.
Jones had been sidelined with an irregular heartbeat a non-football illness that cleared...
