Preseason football is comprised of exhibition games, a series of friendlies, if you will, between two teams gearing up before it starts counting for real.
However, there was nothing at all friendly about what occurred in Arizona just hours ago.
According to ABC15.com, a man was shot in the face during the third quarter of Friday night's game between the Raiders and Cardinals.
The incident, which began as an argument between fans, took place in the parking lot outside University of Phoenix Stadium at roughly 9:30 p.m. local time.
The 30-year-old victim was transported to a hospital, and is in stable condition. The shooter, whose motives have yet to be released, was taken into custody for questioning.

Jacoby Ford went down in the first half of the Oakland Raiders game vs. Arizona. He caught a 9 yard pass from Carson Palmer and got up very gingerly. He limped off the field and at first refused the help of the trainers. He looked to be very frustrated, which usually means the player knows [...]
In 2011, the AFC West received criticism for being one of the worst divisions in football. Rightfully so following a division winning team led by Tim Tebow at quarterback who finished 8-8 while backing into the playoffs. 2012 is fixed to be completely different as Denver improved with Peyton Manning, San Diego will most likely [...]

It’s funny how life can take you around the world and place you right back where you first started. Before Matt Leinart was the starting quarterback at USC, he was a backup for Carson Palmer and now Leinart is his backup again with the Oakland Raiders. Leinart was once a first round pick for the Arizona Cardinals [...]

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb responded to criticism from Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Tommy Kelly, who said after Friday night's exhibition game that Kolb is "scared." John Skelton made a brief appearance in his battle with Kevin Kolb for Arizona's starting quarterback job, just long enough to throw the first touchdown pass for either player this preseason.
Skelton's 3-yard toss to a wide open Anthony Sherman was part of a 17-point second quarter by Arizona, and the Cardinals beat the Oakland Raiders 31-27 on Friday night.
Under the friday night lights, the Oakland Raiders hit the University of Phoenix field to battle against Arizona. Players who did not suit up for [...]
Tommy Kelly rips Cards QB Kevin Kolb.
This will be an interesting year for the Raiders. Their Owner and Figurehead Al Davis passed away last October. Davis had a philosophy called “Just win, baby” which was ingrained in his players heads. He built his Franchise around speed, speed and more speed, which has actually been a hindrance to date. Oakland has incredibly fast WR’s but they needed to be more technically...
Its preseason and it’s not time to panic yet, but the entire offensive line of the Oakland Raiders from starters to backups had a terrible game against the Dallas Cowboys. The backups in particular stunk up the place with how badly they could run block. Most importantly is the fact that this Greg Knapp offensive [...]
