After a disappointing end to the 2011 with an overtime loss at home in the NFC Championship game, the 49ers addressed a huge hole at wide receiver with the additions of Randy Moss, Mario Manningham and AJ Walker this off-season. While there have been numerous reports of Moss excelling in training camp, little has been written about Manningham due to the fact that the former Michigan star has been limited with injuries. According to beat writer Matt Barrows, Manningham is starting to make his mark on his new team. Barrows writes: “Manninghham, who is perhaps fully healthy now after being slowed at the start of camp, has looked very good this week and has been a popular target.” From a fantasy perspective, Manningham is currently the fourth ranked WR/TE behind Davis, Crabtree, and Moss. Due to the logjam at WR, is is possible that he may fall un-drafted in some leagues. If that does occur in your league, I recommend keeping an eye on him as he will have value later in the season due t...

Aldon Smith may miss the rest of preseason with hip injury

SAN FRANCISCO- The 49ers are counting on defensive sophomore beast Aldon Smith to do big things for them this year. Handcuffed: Kendall Hunter

I’m the convenient truth Juan… Yes, the 49ers have probably the most crowded backfield in football, but when the smoke clears there is one RB I like to come out in front. Kendall Hunter. I keep hearing Brandon Jacobs will be the short yardage guy. Has anyone watched the Giants over the past 3-4 years? I’ve seen them all and I can tell you he stinks in short yardage. He’s...
