Could Mark Ingram be the second former Alabama running back to be traded this season?A report on CBSsportsline.com this morning makes the claim that current New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram has asked the team that drafted him three seasons ago to trade him from the ball club. The online story states that Ingram is not happy with the amount of carries he has gotten so far this season. “Ingram is a power back, who in college got better with more carries as he fed off the workload, but he hasn't seemed a fit in New Orleans, where Pierre Thomas remains a trusted veteran, Darren Sproles is one of the best third-down backs in the NFL, and they are currently carrying five backs on their roster.”Ingram is in his second to last year of his rookie a contract, one that he will make  $1.4 million in 2014. The NFL is in a different climate than other years -- one that has seen fellow Bama back Trent Richardson leave Cleveland for Indianapolis last week and the 49ers and Chiefs connect on a trade that saw struggling recent first-round picks A.J. Jenkins and Jonathan Baldwin change places. There is also the potential for a players like Ingram, who has not produced like he as expected to, to come at a cheaper price.Ingram showed improvement with the Saints in the preseason, moving up the depth chart and was expected to get more carries for the franchise, a team not known for its running game, but as a passing fancy offense.Cleveland could be a suitor for the young back, as it is starting Willis McGahee in place of Richardson after the trade. But a report out of ESPN.com claims the Browns will likely pursue Ben Tate, the second running back in the Texans offense, when the offseason and free agency begin.“If the Browns come up with the money it will take to land Tate, they would have him and Indianapolis' first-round draft pick in place of Richardson.”The NFL trade deadline is October 29 at 4 p.m. ET.
