Lions general manager Martin Mayhew just gave his thoughts on Saturday night's 27-10 exhibition loss at Cleveland, plus a few other matters.
Here is what he had to say about subjects not named Matthew Stafford:
•Mayhew didn't jump into the lake after the game.
"I thought it was sort of up and down," Mayhew said. "I thought we got off to a pretty bad start, obviously, giving up big returns in the first quarter. We had four penalties in the first quarter, a pick to start the game. So we didn't get off to a very good start. But I thought there were some positives in the game."
Asked if he keep things in context within the game, Mayhew said: "Right. Sometimes things happen in the game, in a preseason game, that impact the game in a bad way and you have to take into consideration kind of who's playing and who they're playing against and that kind of thing."
