Found October 01, 2013 on Black and Gold Forever:
Mike Adams had a rough offseason. He was stabbed in the abdomen and slashed across the forearm after being attacked by 3 armed men trying to steal his truck outside the bars in Pittsburgh's South Side. The adversity continues for the 2nd-year player. His performance so far in this Steelers 2013 season has been so bad, his position so important, that many in Steeler World are holding their faces wondering if we need to draft another young tackle AGAIN. Dominic Di Tolla over at Nice Pick, Cowher brought the hammer on this report the other day: After three difficult games against Derrick Morgan, Cincinnati’s dangerous four-man rotation, and Julius Peppers, Adams put on his worst performance of the 2013 campaign against Jared Allen and the Minnesota Vikings. Considering how poorly Adams played in his first three games of 2013, it was remarkable how inept the left tackle looked against Allen and Minnesota’s pass-rush. Unfortunately for Adams, allowing three sacks, ...

Benching Adams is the Only Way Steelers Will Know if He is Part of the Future

I’ve watched more replays of the Steelers’ loss in Minnesota than I really care to admit. Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment and like carnage because I can’t look away. While the missed tackles and blown assignments are one thing, I just can’t stop watching Mike Adams attempt to block Jared Allen. Allen is and has been an excellent pass rusher in this league for a...

Two Ways to Take Steelers’ Trade for Brown and Neither Are Good

If you haven’t heard already, the Pittsburgh Steelers have traded a conditional late-round pick to Arizona for former first round pick offensive tackle Levi Brown. Mike Tomlin made no bones about the fact that Mike Adams was not getting the job down over the last three weeks and thus the rare in-season move was made. If there is any good news from this move it’s this; According...

Mike Tomlin Needs To Become A Geology Expert During The Bye Week

Following the loss to the Chicago Bears, head coach Mike Tomlin said that he would turn over stones in an effort to fix the tackle situation. Judging by the play of left tackle Mike Adams Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, he better become a geology expert during the bye week. Through the first four games of the 2013 season, Adams has shown to be one of, if not the worst left...

Steelers game observations form Week 4

Le’Veon is the Steelers’ starting running back: Bell wasn’t special in his career debut, but he showed that he is the best running back the Steelers have. Bell showed his ability to be a hard-nosed runner and the ability to be elusive. His first touchdown run was very impressive. He read the defense, and he reacted very well. Bell only managed 57 yards on the day, but he came...

I Have Some Questions for Coach Tomlin

Hey, Coach Tomlin! I like you man. I really, really do but I have to ask you something. Why are you getting pissed off now? The fire you showed in the post-game comments was the fire we should have seen after week one. Instead, you waited for the fourth consecutive loss to blow your top? Did you not notice the problems and urgency that was needed after the loss to Tennessee? We sure...

Arizona Cardinals trade OT Levi Brown to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Trade for Steelers: The Steelers clearly need left tackle help. 2012 2nd round pick Mike Adams is bombing in his first chance as a full-time starter. Only Atlanta’s tackles, Sam Baker and Lamar Holmes, have graded out worse than Adams on ProFootballFocus this season. However, Brown isn’t a significant upgrade. He currently ranks just 10 spots higher than Adams, 60th out of 72...
