Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure had a prime opportunity to seize the lead dog spot in the backfield when Jahvid Best was not able to return due to his long-standing issue with concussions. Unfortunately nagging issues with injuries and consistency forced the Lions to pick up Reggie Bush to assume that role after Leshoure did not live up to expectations in 2012.
