Monday Night Football Is Here!

The Oakland Raiders are off a very tough season and some of the experts predict that the Raiders can only win three games on this season. But this is preseason and preseason football is much different when picking winners.

First the Raiders will have some much needed help at quarterback as ex-Cincinnati triggerman Carson Palmer will be with the team from the start of the season. He will be backed up by Matt Leinart and second-year man Terrelle Pryor.

While Oakland coach Dennis Allen is not even telling his players how much or when they will play, he did say Pryor would get plenty of snaps at quarterback behind starter Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. (Via WP)

At running back it’s all about D-Mac, but the Raiders will look to keep him healthy. The problem is that his backups are also limping into this game. Mike Goodson and second-year speedster Taiwan Jones are both banged up leaving the Raiders thin in the backfield.

The Cowboys also have their share of injuries as highly touted rookie corner Morris Claiborne out of action as well as speedy wideout Miles Austin, who will be sidelined. Latest reports indicate Dez Bryant will sit out as well. This will not be a concern however since Kevin Ogletree, Andre Holmes, Dwayne Harris, Cole Beasley, are all fighting for the third spot and will get some playing time.Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

In the head-to-head meetings in the preseason, the Raiders own an 18-9 edge, winning the last two meetings, but this is a different team from previous meetings. Head coach Dennis Allen is focusing on finding a running back and erasing the penalty plagued teams from years past. This makes sense considering that the Raiders have led the league in penalties 17 times, more than any other team in the league.

The Raiders have a new head man in Allen and his concern is obviously not on winning because the Raiders have to learn how to play smart before they can even think about winning a football game. That leaves the door wide open for the Cowboys win this game outright.

Monday Night Football Pick: Dallas Cowboys +1
