The only real surprise on the list of 15 roster moves made on Monday by the Pittsburgh Steelers was that linebacker Mortty Ivy was waived injured.
I posted during the Steelers Saturday night preseason game against the Buffalo Bills that it looked like Ivy was shot in the back of his left leg in the second half and I wondered if he had injured his hamstring. If there is a silver lining to the David DeCastro’s knee injury suffered on Sunday night in Buffalo, it’s that apparently his ACL is intact. Still though, it’s a significant injury that will keep him out for quite awhile. He’ll need surgery to repair the damage once the swelling goes down, which could take as long as 1-2 weeks under normal conditions.
