Former Oakland Raiders coach Hue Jackson took a walk down memory lane in discussing the 2011 NFL Draft.
Coming out of Nevada, Kaepernick was a fast rising prospect and the Raiders tried to make a trade with the New England Patriots for the 33rd overall pick, however, the deal fell through and the San Francisco 49ers swooped in and grabbed the quarterback shortly after.
"I think about it all the time, believe me," Jackson said, via Peter King of SI.com.
"No question in my mind we wanted it to happen, and no question I thought it could happen. We wanted the kid in the worst way."
