The Detroit Lions not only lost their Monday night contest
against the Chicago Bears, they lost starting wide receiver Nate Burleson for
the remainder of the season. Burleson suffered a broken leg, reports MichaelDavid Smith of ProFootballTalk.com.

announced at his postgame press conference that Burleson will not play again
Burleson sustained the injury in the second half, landing
awkwardly on his leg after catching a 16-yard pass. He was unable to leave the
field under his own power, and he eventually had to be carted off to the
Burleson started at wide out opposite of Calvin Johnson,
entering the game with 26 catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns on the
season. Young Lions receivers Titus Young and Ryan Broyles will be asked to
step up following Burleson’s injury, according to Smith.
