The Patriots have released 2011 second round pick Ras-I Dowling today. The news was broken by ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Dowling, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound cornerback was the first pick of the second round in the 2011 NFL Draft. He struggled with injuries in his two seasons with the Patriots, only playing in nine total games. He finished his Patriots career with 10 tackles and one pass defensed.
