Two of the hottest teams in the NFC and in all of the NFL will meet up in the final game of the wild card playoffs. The Seahawks, who are riding a five-game winning streak, head to Washington to take on the Redskins, who have won their last seven games. The game will feature two rookie quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Robert Griffin III going head to head in their first playoff game in the NFL. Seattle Seahawks The Seahawks still had a shot to win the NFC West last week, but a 49ers’ win over the Cardinals took away that possibility. Even with that they still head into the playoffs on a historic hot streak. They have won their last five games, but the second, third, and fourth were the ones that were impressive. They won those games by 58, 33, and 29 points respectively, and their 120 point margin of victory during the three-game span is one of the highest in NFL history. Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch have both been absolutely amazing for the Seahawks all season, and their success has been evident during their last five games. Wilson has thrown nine touchdowns and only two interceptions during this span, while Lynch has rushed for 539 yards and six touchdowns. The only question for the Seahawks will be their play away from home. They have a record of 3-5 on the road, which is a major contrast from their 8-0 home record. However, they have won their last two road games and have never lost by more than seven points on the road, or in any game, this season. Washington Redskins How will RG3 do in his first playoff game? They won their final seven games after starting 3-6 to win the NFC East in Week 17 and make the playoffs. It is one that saw Kirk Cousins get a win as starter, and another in relief of RG3. The main reason for the streak is the aforementioned Robert Griffin III. Alfred Morris has also had an impressive rookie season, but Griffin is the star of this team. He has been playing on a hurt knee as of late, but it has not affected his success. He has thrown for an even 3200 yards along with 20 touchdowns and has also rushed for 815 yards and seven touchdowns. His success in the running game helps out Alfred Morris, who has 1613 yards and 13 touchdowns, and makes it tough for opposing teams to shut down the Redskins’ rushing attack. Seahawks-Redskins Prediction Neither rookie quarterback has an advantage over the other, as it is a first playoff game for each, but the Seahawks do have the advantage on defense. They will get to RG3, and his escape ability will be hindered by his hurt knee. It will be a close game, but it will be won by the Seahawks.
