In a move which should come as little surprise, the Detroit Lions released 23-year old WR Titus Young this afternoon. Young possesses the athletic talent to play in the NFL, but his attitude has been a serious issue during his short time in the NFL. Young, a second-year player will now have to undergo the waiver process and some team will likely decide to roll the dice on the 5-foot 11-inch receiver out of Boise State.
According to his current contract, Young is slated to earn $555,000 dollars in 2013.
Young found himself benched by the Lions after declaring that he purposely lined up wrong in certain offensive formations during the season. He declared himself as a future member of the Hall of Fame and them once again decided to hit Twitter to threaten the Lions organization with retirement unless he became a larger portion of the team’s offense.
