Week 12 kicks off today with three Thanksgiving Day games, all of which have playoff implications. The rest of Week 12 on Sunday and Monday also features a number of pivotal matchups. NFL Week 12 Viewer’s and Bettor’s Guide TV Schedules – Point Spreads – Kickoff Times – Picks Houston Texans at Detroit Lions Texans-Lions Date: Thursday, November 22 Texans-Lions Kickoff Time: 12:30 PM Texans-Lions TV Network: CBS Texans-Lions Point Spread: Texans -4 Texans-Lions Over-Under Odds: 50 Texans-Lions Pick: The Lions have been inconsistent all season, which has led to them being in last-place in the NFC North. They are now 4-6 and a loss today would effectively drop them from playoff contention. A loss seems likely, as the Texans have the best record in the AFC, tied for best in the NFL with Atlanta, at 9-1. Even though it is a home game for Detroit, the Texans will have a convincing win after their scare against Jacksonville last week. Texans -4 Calvin Johnson and the Lions desperately need a Thanksgiving Day victory over the mighty Texans to stay in the playoff race. Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys Redskins-Cowboys Date: Thursday, November 22 Redskins-Cowboys Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM Redskins-Cowboys TV Network: FOX Redskins-Cowboys Point Spread: Cowboys -3 Redskins-Cowboys Over-Under Odds: 48 Redskins-Cowboys Pick: The Redskins were on a three-game losing streak before their 31-6 destruction of the Eagles last week. They still have a realistic shot of making the playoffs, even though they are 4-6. A win over the Cowboys, along with a Giants loss, would put them one game behind the Giants. Dallas still has playoff aspirations, and they nearly lost those last week when they barely escaped with a win over the Browns. That performance alone is enough to doubt them this week, so go with the Redskins in this game. Redskins +3 New England Patriots at New York Jets Patriots-Jets Date: Thursday, November 22 Patriots-Jets Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM Patriots-Jets TV Network: NBC Patriots-Jets Point Spread: Patriots -7.5 Patriots-Jets Over-Under Odds: 48.5 Patriots-Jets Pick: All four teams in the AFC East were 3-3 at one point, and only the Patriots have won more than one game since that point. They are 7-4 and are rightfully favorites over the 4-6 Jets. New York did end a three-game losing streak by beating St. Louis last week, but that is not too impressive of a win. The two teams have already met this season, a game in which New England won in overtime, but that was back when each team was 3-3. That win started New England’s current four-game winning streak, which will be five after the game tonight. Patriots -7.5 Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns Steelers-Browns Date: Sunday, November 25 Steelers-Browns Kickoff Time: 1 PM Steelers-Browns TV Network: CBS Steelers-Browns Point Spread: Steelers-Browns Over-Under Odds: Steelers-Browns Pick: Information will be posted when odds are announced. Straight Pick: Browns Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears Vikings-Bears Date: Sunday, November 25 Vikings-Bears Kickoff Time: 1 PM Vikings-Bears TV Network: FOX Vikings-Bears Point Spread: Vikings-Bears Over-Under Odds: Vikings-Bears Pick: Information will be posted when odds are announced. Straight Pick: Vikings Oakland Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals Raiders-Bengals Date: Sunday, November 25 Raiders-Bengals Kickoff Time: 1 PM Raiders-Bengals TV Network: CBS Raiders-Bengals Point Spread: Bengals -8 Raiders-Bengals Over-Under Odds: 49 Raiders-Bengals Pick: The Bengals saved their season by winning their last two games, which was kick-started with a big win over the Giants. Oakland has lost by double-digits in each of their last three games, and that is easily a possibility in this game as well. The Bengals are simply playing too well in this game to let the Raiders be in it at all. Bengals -8 Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts Bills-Colts Date: Sunday, November 25 Bills-Colts Kickoff Time: 1 PM Bills-Colts TV Network: CBS Bills-Colts Point Spread: Colts -3 Bills-Colts Over-Under Odds: 51 Bills-Colts: The Bills picked up a win over Miami in their last game, but it would have meant much more if the Dolphins had a better record. All four of Buffalo’s wins have come against teams that do not currently have winning records. Indianapolis has a winning record, even after their tough loss against New England last week. They were on a four-game winning streak prior to the loss, and will get back on track with an easy win over Buffalo at home. Colts -3 Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Broncos-Chiefs Date: Sunday, November 25 Broncos-Chiefs Kickoff Time: 1 PM Broncos-Chiefs TV Network: CBS Broncos-Chiefs Point Spread: Broncos -10.5 Broncos-Chiefs Over-Under Odds: 44 Broncos-Chiefs Pick: It is fair to assume that the Broncos will win this game against the Chiefs. Besides the fact that the Chiefs are the worst team in the league, the Broncos have won their last five games. It is sometimes tough to take such a large spread, but the Chiefs have lost four of their last five games by double-digit margins. Broncos -10.5 Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins Seahawks-Dolphins Date: Sunday, November 25 Seahawks-Dolphins Kickoff Time: 1 PM Seahawks-Dolphins TV Network: FOX Seahawks-Dolphins Point Spread: Seahawks -3 Seahawks-Dolphins Over-Under Odds: 37.5 Seahawks-Dolphins Pick: The Seahawks head into Miami with a record of 6-4, but are only 1-4 on the road this season. While this is the case, they should still be able to take this game. Miami has lost three in a row, while Seattle has won two straight and is coming off a bye week. It may be close, but Seattle will be the winner. Seahawks -3 Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Falcons-Buccaneers Date: Sunday, November 25 Falcons-Buccaneers Kickoff Time: 1 PM Falcons-Buccaneers TV Network: FOX Falcons-Buccaneers Point Spread: Falcons -1.5 Falcons-Buccaneers Over-Under Odds: 50 Falcons-Buccaneers Pick: Atlanta does have the best record in the NFC, but Tampa Bay is playing better football right now. They have won four straight to pull themselves into playoff contention. Atlanta only has one loss on the year, but they have not been blowing teams out in their wins. Matt Ryan threw five interceptions and no touchdowns last week against Atlanta, but they still somehow found a way to win. It should be close, but Tampa Bay will pull off the upset. Buccaneers +1.5 Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars Titans-Jaguars Date: Sunday, November 25 Titans-Jaguars Kickoff Time: 1 PM Titans-Jaguars TV Network: FOX Titans-Jaguars Point Spread: Titans -3 Titans-Jaguars Over-Under Odds: 44.5 Titans-Jaguars Pick: Jacksonville shocked the NFL last week by nearly beating the Texans, before their loss in overtime. Chad Henne started for Jacksonville and led the offense to score 37 points against a tough Houston defense. While it was impressive, Tennessee’s 37-3 win over Miami is enough evidence to go with them in this matchup. Titans -3 Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers Ravens-Chargers Date: Sunday, November 25 Ravens-Chargers Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM Ravens-Chargers TV Network: CBS Ravens-Chargers Point Spread: Ravens -1 Ravens-Chargers Over-Under Odds: 47 Ravens-Chargers Pick: The Ravens are surprisingly small favorites in this game, considering they have won three straight. The Chargers have only won one of their last six games, and that came against the Chiefs. The Ravens may have struggled against Pittsburgh in their last game, but they will quickly bounce back against the Chargers. Ravens -1 San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints 49ers-Saints Date: Sunday, November 25 49ers-Saints Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM 49ers-Saints TV Network: FOX 49ers-Saints Point Spread: 49ers -1.5 49ers-Saints Over-Under Odds: 48.5 49ers-Saints Pick: The biggest story coming from this game has to do with the fact that Colin Kaepernick will be starting for the 49ers. He had a great game against Chicago last week, which was apparently enough for Harbaugh to make the change. The Saints should not be overshadowed by this story. They have won three straight to get to 5-5, and still have a shot at the playoffs. It may seem like a stretch, but look for the Saints to catch Kaepernick and the 49ers off guard and record the most notable upset of the week. Saints +1.5 St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals Rams-Cardinals Date: Sunday, November 25 Rams-Cardinals Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM Rams-Cardinals TV Network: FOX Rams-Cardinals Point Spread: Cardinals -3 Rams-Cardinals Over-Under Odds: 37.5 Rams-Cardinals Pick: The Cardinals have lost their last six games, are down to their third quarterback, but still come into this game as the favorites. Rookie Ryan Lindley gets the start for Arizona, but it should do little to change the losing streak. St. Louis easily defeated the Cardinals 17-3 in Week 5, and that was when Kevin Kolb was starting for Arizona. Rams +3 Green Bay Packers at New York Giants Packers-Giants Date: Sunday, November 25 Packers-Giants Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM Packers-Giants TV Network: NBC Packers-Giants Point Spread: Giants -3 Packers-Giants Over-Under Odds: 50.5 Packers-Giants Pick: The Giants are favorites in this game, even though they have lost two straight games. Home-field advantage and a bye week will help the Giants, but the Packers have won their last five games. These wins have not been blowouts, but they are wins nonetheless. Green Bay will win this game, and vault into first-place above the Bears. Packers +3 Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles Panthers-Eagles Date: Monday, November 26 Panthers-Eagles Kickoff Time: 8:30 PM Panthers-Eagles TV Network: ESPN Panthers-Eagles Point Spread: Panthers-Eagles Over-Under Odds: Panthers-Eagles Pick: Information will be posted when odds are announced. Straight Pick: Eagles Last Week: 7-6-1 Yearly Record: 75-80-5 The post NFL Week 12 Picks, Preview, and Point Spreads appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
