Dead issue: Packers GM Ted Thompson keeps ‘dead money’ minimal, spends responsibly

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson doesn’t spend much in free agency, choosing to find his talent through cheaper channels such as the NFL Draft. As teams battle each other to out bid for the ‘flavor of the month’ Thompson sits back and retains his own key players. It’s clear when you look at a team’s books if they are just giving money away without worrying...

Charles Woodson Says He Remains Unemployed Because Teams Consider Him ‘Ancient’

Charles Woodson was once a perennial Pro Bowler with the Raiders and Packers, but now he can’t seem to find a job. Why is such a highly decorated player not even drawing a sniff of interest from NFL teams? Woodson, who would be entering his 16th pro season, says his age is scaring clubs off. “I’m 36, so of course I’m considered ancient in the game right now, and teams are...

Woodson not drawing interest in free agency

Free agency hasn't exactly gone like Charles Woodson expected. Nearly two months after being released by the Green Bay Packers, the 36-year-old defensive back is still without a team. Charles Woodson: Teams Think I’m Ancient, They Aren’t Calling Me

When the Green Bay Packers released Charles Woodson six weeks ago, sentiment around the league was that Woodson would not be unemployed for to long. A month or so later and Woodson has still found no takers. Woodson though isn’t naive, and told NFL AM that he’s unemployed because he’s old. “I’m 36, so of course I’m considered ancient in the game right now, and teams...

Aaron Rodgers not worried about losing Greg Jennings

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told 102.9 The Hog in Milwaukee that their offense will be just fine without Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. “I think we’re going to be a very formidable offense again and on defense if we can get healthy and get some of the guys back and going, we’re going to be tough to beat,” Rodgers said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel...
