Pro Bowl wide receiver Greg Jennings practiced for the second consecutive day with the Green Bay Packers, albeit on a limited basis. His involvement, however, increased from jumping in for a few drills at the start of practice Wednesday to doing at least a little in everything Thursday. “(I) got a little scout-team work in there as well to get my wind up underneath me,” Jennings said afterward. “I felt better than what I thought I was going to feel. I guess I was working more rapid-fire yesterday and prior days than I actually would during a game. So, I was a little more winded. I was kind of nervous about that, but I feel good.” Three weeks after undergoing surgery for a torn lower abdominal muscle. Jennings said he could resume playing Sunday night. The Packers (7-3), who are on a five-game winning streak and caught Chicago for first place in the NFC North, play at the NFC East-leading New York Giants (6-4). Jennings said he has been pleading his case to play with the team’s medical staff through his on-field actions of the past few days. “I want to go out there and play, especially if you feel good,” Jennings said. “But, at the end of the day, I’m going to let them make the decision. I’m going to give my input, but it’ll be their decision, their call. We’ll see." Jennings has missed the last six games after aggravating the injury in the Sept. 30 win over New Orleans. He has just 12 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in three games this season. Packers coach Mike McCarthy is letting the week run its course before a decision is made on Jennings’ status for Sunday’s game. “Greg's excited,” McCarthy said after practice Thursday. “We had calculated reps for him during our team periods -- he took the majority of the opponent reps. So, we’ll see how he feels in the morning. He felt really good today after practicing yesterday, so he’s definitely progressing. “It’s really going to be a medical, conditioning, those types (of factors) -- we’ll have to talk it through,” McCarthy added about the final call on Jennings for the game. “The biggest thing was to get him on course to make progress, and right now, he’s taken every step. That’s very encouraging.”
