The Wayne Fontes Experience:
Straight from The Schwartz, the injury report for this weeks upcoming loss to the Steelers...
From looking at the injury list, by Sunday afternoon the Lions' defensive line may be anchored by the guy who sings "Gridiron Heroes" after a Detroit touchdown.
White and Hill are out, Avril is gimpy (though he's been beat out by Jason Hunter anyway) and Jackson is hurting (let alone old, fat and slow), and rarely, if ever, practicing. The Steelers are going to run the ball down the Lions' maw, and Gunther Cunningham won't be able to do a thing about it.
Will anyone miss Ernie Sims if he doesn't play? DeAndre Levy has stepped into the lineup and made more plays in 2 games than Sims did in all of 2008.
Simpson had played well enough to start next to Louis Delmas at safety. Now he's hurting, too. When it comes to injuries, are the Lions jinxed? A cursed franchise? It sure seems like it, considering injuries constantly seem to be sapping the team of tale...
