The Panthers have signed unrestricted free agent cornerback D.J. Moore.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Moore played in 13 games with two starts for the Chicago Bears last season and had 29 tackles and two interceptions. He served as the Bears nickel back for a portion of the season.
Carolina announced the move Tuesday. Moore, 25, received a one-year contract but financial terms weren't disclosed.
He's played all four seasons in Chicago after being selected in the fourth round in 2009. He's played in 43 games with three starts tallying 133 tackles and 10 interceptions, including two touchdown returns.
Moore could potentially replace nickel back Captain Munnerlyn, an unrestricted free agent who's exploring the free agent market.
Moore is a native of Spartanburg, S.C., where the Panthers hold their annual training camp.

I was in line at the Jewel grocery store Wednesday when word started spreading through Chicago: Brian Urlacher is no longer a Bear.
Where were you when you heard it, Chicago?
"They finally did it?'' the guy behind me asked. "What did they get for him?''
They didn't trade him. They dumped him.
"They dumped him,'' he repeated. "Ah...
Marc Trestman understands that Chicago Bears fans anxiously want to know whether iconic middle linebacker Brian Urlacher will be returning for a 14th NFL season.
Unfortunately for them, Chicago's new head coach doesn't have an update.
Urlacher remained unsigned Wednesday as Trestman spoke with the media Wednesday morning at the NFL owners meeting.
The fact Urlacher hasn...
Orlando Pace is a former professional football player who played offensive tackle in the NFL for thirteen seasons. Pace was the first overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played for the Rams for twelve years from 1997 to 2008. He then went on to play for the Chicago Bears in 2009, his last NFL season. Pace started 154 consecutive games and started 165 of the...
The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday that the team was unable to reach an agreement on a new contract with unrestricted free agent middle linebacker Brian Urlacher.
After the Chicago Bears announced tonight that they weren’t going to be re-signing linebacker Brian Urlacher, he made it clear that he was given an ultiminatium.
The Bears reportedly made Urlacher a one-year, $2 million offer and said take it, or leave it.
“It wasn’t even an offer, it was an ultimatum,” Urlacher told the Chicago Tribune. “I feel like I’m a decent football...
One of the many running backs that isn’t happy about the new rule that the NFL passed which prohibits offensive players from striking defenders with the crown of their helmets, is Bears’ running back Matt Forte.
After finding out that the rule passed, Forte tweeted that he’s going to open a bank account to pay his fines.
Picking the Chicago Bears’ biggest draft day regret is like selecting the worst bottom bracket team in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. There are so many possibilities how do you narrow it down to just one?The Bears certainly regretted finishing 1-13 and tied for the worst record in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969. In a coin flip to decide who would pick first in the...
Jeff Dickerson reports that the Bears have agreed to terms with free agent DE Turk McBride.
McBride, 27, spent the last two seasons with the Saints, but wasn’t able to have a big impact on their defense. He wound up playing only 141 snaps last season. He offers more in terms of pass-rush, than run-stopping ability.
This could be just a depth move on the part of the Bears, but...
The days of Devin Hester playing wide receiver are over. New Bears coach Marc Trestman said on Wednesday that the explosive Hester will only be used as a return man for the team.
This news is hardly surprising as Hester has been a liability in the passing game and the Bears have also had a turnover on their coaching staff.
Under Lovie Smith the Bears attempted to get Hester more...
The future of Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is one of the big offseason questions in Chicago.
Kevin Seifert of ESPN reports Bears chairman George McCaskey said he personally hopes Urlacher returns but made clear the decision lies with general manager Phil Emery.
"As a fan," McCaskey said, "of course you want him back. He's been the face of the franchise...
According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, Bears’ head coach Marc Ttrestman told him that they plan on running the read-option with Jay Cutler in 2013.
I guess Trestman is confident in Cutler’s mobility. I would do my best to keep him out of harms way after all of the big hits he’s taken over the years. He’s not the most durable quarterback.
Need NFL Tickets?...
Of course, we've all seen this video before. I feel like Brady has one of these surprisingly athletic but not really that athletic moves every year. Last year it might've been either his scramble for a TD against Buffalo or when he kicked Ed Reed in the balls, can't decide which I liked more.
Anyway, Brian Urlacher is leaving Chicago after they basically told him they...
The Chicago Bears and free agent defensive end Turk McBride agreed to a one-year deal on Tuesday, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports citing a source familiar with the situation.
McBride, who flew into Chicago on Monday and visited with the Bears on Tuesday before agreeing to the deal, is a six-year NFL veteran who has played with the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and New...
