Recently, Ed Reed said the NFL is becoming a powder-puff league because of the new rules installed by commissioner Roger Goodell. That may be giving the league too much credit — the NFL is turning into a Pop Warner league. The controversy surrounding Pete Carroll the last two weeks has been ridiculous. The Seahawks’ head coach has been accused of running up the score against the Cardinals and Bills the last two weeks by putting up 58 and 50 points against those teams respectively. Seattle beat the Arizona by 58 and Buffalo by 33. The latest issue on the public’s mind is that the Seahawks ran a fake punt while already up by 30 points early in the fourth quarter while facing a 4th-and-4 situation. Seattle converted the fourth-down situation when punt protector Chris Maragos audibled into a direct snap, which he then handed off to fullback Michael Robinson for a 29-yard gain. It was supposedly on Carroll to remove the audible — which Maragos called based on the Bills’ special teams ali...

Seattle on cusp of playoffs, not talking about it

Pete Carroll isn't talking about the postseason yet. All the Seattle Seahawks coach is focusing on is the importance of beating San Francisco on Sunday night. The byproduct of getting a victory over the 49ers would be the Seahawks getting to 10 wins for the first time since 2007, earning at least a wild-card berth in the NFC playoffs, and keeping alive the slim hopes of winning...

Pete Carroll feels bad for running fake punt vs. Bills

Fake punts are typically reserved for critical do-or-die situations, but for the Seattle Seahawks, they're business as usual. Up by 30 points over the Buffalo Bills early in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks opted to run a fake punt, which went for 29 yards. Seattle got a field goal out of the drive in closing out a 50-17 win. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after the game that...

Knowshon Moreno Hurdles Ed Reed

Knowshon Moreno just completed one of the most athletic runs we have seen all season. What started off looking like a standard run up the middle ended up being an insane hurdle over Ravens safety Ed Reed. Moreno is a guy who has become known for his athletic, showstopping plays. This one might take the cake. Ed Reed, seeing the hurdle coming, stood up to nearly full height. This...

Revenge of the Fail Mary

We all knew it would come to this, right? We didn’t want to believe it but, deep down inside, we knew better. We all knew that one of the many bungled calls made by those replacement refs, who simultaneously entertained and enraged us the first three weeks of the 2012 season, would come back to haunt us. It’s almost divine providence that their most infamous call could, if the...

Seahawks dominating like no team has in over 70 years

The Seattle Seahawks have rolled their last two opponents by scores of 58-0 and 50-17, for a total combined margin of victory of 91 points.  That doesn't happen very often as noted by NFL's Director of NFC Football Communications Randall Liu. . @seahawks have won past 2 by 91 points, largest combined margin of victory in 2-game span in @nfl since 1941 Bears (95) —...

Seattle Seahawks: That Team No One Wants in Round One

When the Seattle Seahawks took a risk by not only starting a rookie quarterback, but by starting him over their prized free agent acquisition, many thought Pete Carroll had lost his mind. Much to the same tone of thought when he took Bruce Irvin at 15th overall in the NFL Draft, when he was graded as a mid to late 2nd rounder at best. This trend continued many times in the early...

Peyton Manning says Ed Reed is “best safety in the NFL”

At one point when the Baltimore Ravens had to play against the Indianapolis Colts, the fans of Charm City were excited to have the opportunity to pound the team that left their proud city. However, the Colts had quarterback Peyton Manning and he has tormented Baltimore for the past few years. Over time, the thrill of going up against Manning was not very thrilling as he posted an...

Seattle’s Rookie QB Is Shocking The World

Photo Credit: Rick Bowmer/AP The 2012 NFL Draft was one that was highlighted by two quarterbacks that were both worthy of being selected number 1 overall: Stanford’s Andrew Luck and Baylor’s Robert Griffin III. Well, who would have thought that with two weeks to go in the regular season a guy that was picked 75th overall by the Seattle Seahawks was the favorite to bring home...
