This offseason features a surplus of talent. So let’s take a look at five big name offensive free agents that are unemployed at the moment… 5. Martellus Bennet, TE – 2012 team, New York Giants:  Bennet is a a solid tight end that still has a lot of room to grow. This was the tight end’s best year by far when he finished with 626 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. In fact, the only other season that Bennet had 1 or more touchdowns was in his rookie season when he had 4 (2008). 4. Wes Welker, WR – 2012 team, New England Patriots: Welker is a speedy receiver that every team could use. The wide receiver has played six seasons in New England and has totaled more than 1,150 yards five times. Welker’s best season was just two years ago when he finished with 1,569 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns, both personal bests. 3. Steven Jackson, RB – 2012 team, St. Louis Rams: The running back for the Rams has totaled more than 1,000 rushing yards in eight straight seasons but has only rushed for more than seven or more touchdowns in three of those seasons. Jackson has also dealt with a horrendous offensive line over the last couple years which might play to his advantage when he tries to persuade teams that he deserves a big contract. 2. Mike Wallace, WR – 2012 team, Pittsburgh Steelers: The wide receiver has declined over the past two seasons but did finish the season strong. Since a career year in 2010 in which he totaled 1,257 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, his receiving yards and touchdown totals have decreased. This past season was the first time in three years that Wallace had less than 1,000 receiving yards. 1. Joe Flacco, QB – 2012 team, Baltimore Ravens: The former Delaware quarterback led his team to a Super Bowl victory this past season and is now a free agent. What could be better? Flacco will most likely sign a top five contract in terms of total guaranteed money with Baltimore this offseason and he deserves it. Except for a decrease of 12 yards from the 2010 to the 2011 season, Flacco has increased his passing yards totals every season since his rookie year. In the end, Joe Flacco will most likely land the largest contract of the offseason. Those are my top five offensive free agents. Who are yours? The New England Patriots have several options when it comes to tackling their offseason, but one route could have them allowing Wes Welker to walk and also parting ways with Brandon Lloyd, according to Greg A. Bedard of The Boston Globe. Bedard believes cutting ties with its veteran wide outs represents the best option for the Patriots. Welker is set to become an unrestricted...

Is Wes Welker the Patriots top priority? Matt Light thinks he should be

Now the cynics might first think, of course a former player is going to side with the player. Good point. However, Light has a pretty reasonable explanation for his defense. CSNNE: "If you take the heart and soul away from a team, it's not like open-heart surgery these days. He's a guy that you have try to find a way to make him right. I think he made really good...

NFL Rumors: Will the New England Patriots trade for WR Percy Harvin?

Dwayne Bowe, Percy Harvin Among Patriots’ Potential Replacements for Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker (Podcast)

It may sound odd after leading the NFL in total offense in 2012, but some of the Patriots’ biggest offseason needs come on offense. The only wide receiver guaranteed to be back next season is Matthew Slater — a primary special teamer — and the right side of the New England offensive line could also see a makeover in 2013. That’s why wide receiver and offensive line will be...
