The Pittsburgh Steelers got plenty output from RB Jonathan Dwyer Sunday against the Washington Redskins. He rushed for 107 yards in his second NFL start.
Now it looks like he may not get that third start when they take on the New York Giants Sunday afternoon.
Dwyer missed Wednesday's practice with a quadricep injury. He joins his teammates S Troy Polamalu (calf), T Marcus Gilbert (ankle) and LBs LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) and Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring).
Among those players, Woodley and Gilbert will miss reportedly Sunday’s game. Rashard Mendenhall returned to practice Wednesday, although limited, and is likely to remain on the sidelines.
Reports out of Pittsburgh are saying that Dwyer will return to practice today, and when Sunday comes, he wants in. "I just want to play in general, it's not even about all the yards and all that, I just want to keep playing", he told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
