Football Extra Points:
The Washington Redskins will take on the Philadelphia Eagles tonight at FedEx Field in their first game of the yearon Monday Night Football. Kickoff set for 7:10 PM on ESPN. The Redskins look to bounce back from a home loss in the wild card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawkslast season. The Eagles will be bringing to town a healthy Michael Vick who put up big numbers the last time he played at FedEx Field on Monday night football. Vick passed for four touchdowns and ran for two in a rout in 2010. The Redskins are welcoming back Robert Griffin III after reconstructive knee surgery in the offseason. Griffin’s first snap tonight will be his first since he went down trying to recover a bad snap in the playoff game against Seattle. The Way it WasLast season the Redskins went 2-0 against the Eagles. Both games proved to be pivotal in getting the Redskins to the playoffs. At home, they won in blowout fashion by a score of 31-6 and Griffin was phenomenal as he went 14/15 passing with four touchdowns to four different receivers. This win came after the Redskins bye week in which they stood at 3-6 and on the outside of the NFC playoff picture. This win was the first of seven in a row that helped propel the Redskins to the playoffs. The second meeting was a lot closer of a match. The Redskins would barely pull out a win in Griffin’s first game back from his initial knee injury against Baltimore. Griffin was clearly immobile but would still go 16/21 passing. The Redskins won on a Nick Folesintentional grounding penalty that ended the game. This win set up the win-or-go home game against the Dallas Cowboys in week 17. Tonight’s OutlookFans and defensive coordinators will get to see first year Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly’s high flying fast paced offense. It is thought that the Redskins kept around Pat White so the Redskins defense could go up against a left-handed mobile quarterback in practice. The Eagles are expected to go no-huddle and rush to the line of scrimmage after most of the plays. Time will tell if this sort of style of play can succeed in the NFL. For the Redskins, one important player to keep an eye on is Brandon Merriweather. Merriweather’s status for the game is still unclear as he is listed as questionable. If he is able to play,he will certainly have an impact on the game. Reed Doughty is a formidable back up, but he cannot have thesame impact on the game that Merriweather can. On offense, the Redskins will likely try to pound the rock andestablish the running game with Alfred Morris and Roy Helu. This will slow the game down and counteract the Eagles high-paced offense. This will allow the Redskins to open up the play-action passing game for big plays downfield. In his first game back, Griffin likely won’t be running much, but knowing him this could change. This game will be close throughout, but expect the Redskins to pull away in the end. Final Score: Redskins 27 Eagles 24By Mac Cassells

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin II got what he wants, well almost. He got to start the first regular season game for Washington, but he didn’t get the win and it could be because he didn’t play the kind of game he is capable of playing. In the first half it looked like Griffin was holding back the style that makes him a winner. Of course all the dropped passed didn’t help...
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was a man trying to get back into the groove of things Monday night in their week one loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. From early on, it was evident that it will take some time for a man coming off a devastating knee injury and missing all of the preseason to find his rhythm.
Redskins Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says he won’t use the excuse that he’s “rusty” for the reason he turned the ball over three times and didn’t score a point until lass than two minutes

Brandon Meriweather's groin injury has kept him out of the Washington Redskins' opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The oft-injured safety is listed as inactive for Monday night's game.
Meriweather played in only one game last year, when he sprained his left knee in preseason and then tore the ACL in his right knee in midseason. His knee had recovered enough for...
When your team loses that alone is typically considered a pretty good reason for businesses not to give anything away. Free stuff is usually given out in celebration; not defeat.
That wasn't the case with the Washington Redskins Monday night.
Apparently the folks at Subway were not expecting much from Robert Griffin III and the rest of the team since all they needed...
The Washington Redskins' home opener on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles was one of the most hyped openers in recent memory. While Chip Kelly's high-speed offense was a big deal, the primary storyline was the return of Robert Griffin III. We heard it all. We saw it all. Operation patience, the “blow it up” commercial, and the so-called riff between...
RGIII came out telling Lisa Salters that he felt like Hitch, probably because Gatorade bought the rights to it somehow. Through the first quarter, it was all about the Eagles running all of the plays and Washington making all of the derps. Alfred Morris fumbled twice, once resulting in a yet another Week 1 safety. RGIII threw a Sex Cannon-like interception and has otherwise looked...
According to OCNN Report, ESPN had a dedicated camera for Robert Griffin III in case he got injured on Monday night.
A note on the camera said the following.
Camera dedicated to RG3.
Stay with him if he is injured, frustrated or fatigued.
If he throws a TD pass cut to the parents.
ISO for RG3 on run out of the tunnel, first TD and first Big Hit.
I’m sure major networks do this...
The injury report for Monday night's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins is an uncharacteristically short one.
Only two players appear on the Eagles injury list, and only one of the two is still on the active roster. Cornerback Brandon Hughes is listed as out on the Eagles injury report. Hughes was cut on Saturday. Offensive tackle Dennis Kelly...

approach in monitoring field conditions.
